Wax borders
In poppy fields and Kashmir
Draw your lines tonight,
Take all what you might:
A little dust from your flesh,
And chalk from a bullet
Remember to engrave your names as deep
As fossils on your epitaph
Before your ashes turn into quick sand
And the thin lines
Become tiny dots on colonial maps.
Jubaraj J. Baruah: I am currently based in Kolkata, doing my postgraduation in cinema from Satyajit Ray Film and TV Institute. I have made a few short films and documentaries and am working on my diploma film. I am from Assam, a northeastern state in the country. Assam is situated on the banks of the Brahmaputra river. A strange and unique mix of an urban ruin, a rustic river valley flavour is what has shaped a lot of my ideas. I have a passion for photography and I like looking at the world with a wide angle lens.
