Hi. I’m Alexandra Naughton. You may have seen me on the internet before. Maybe you haven’t. Either way is cool because I guess you’re reading this now. Or maybe no one is reading this at all and I’m just typing this for my health. Everything I type is for my health. I think you know what I mean.
My current mood is crispy taco, but I am actually eating a soggy BLT. Warm sandwiches get soft and weird when you keep them closed in a box for too long. The steam effect.
Every time this time of year rolls around I am always grateful that the year is ending. Because it was usually a hard year, or it seemed hard, even though I doubt my years are worse than anyone else’s.
I constantly feel tired, or when I feel tired I notice it more than when I feel energized. What do you do with negative feelings. How do you deal with them. I guess it’s all about perspective.
I’m leaving for Los Angeles this Friday to film a movie that is based on a story I wrote. Pirooz Kalayeh wrote the script and is directing. I am going to act in it, and so is Jayinee Basu. I’m looking forward to this experience because it will be one of the wackiest things I’ve done all year. Maybe even wackier than touring the east coast with Jesse Prado.
Positive mental attitude. Every year my only resolution is to be more positive about everything. I hate my job but otherwise I feel like I’m finally doing something worthwhile with my life. I’m talking about my performance. Not like how I am performing in regards to productivity or some shit, but everything. Everything is a performance. This is my show.
In all seriousness, Nashville was probably my favorite show this year. It got me through some ups and downs, the music is actually really heart-wrenching, and there are some hidden lessons about love, life, mistakes, and moving forward. Here’s some of my favorite songs from the show in both 2013 and 2014. Without irony, this music has helped me get through some difficult moments these past couple of months.
Everything I’ll Ever Need (Juliette/Hayden Panettiere & Avery/Jonathan Jackson)
Nothing In This World Will Ever Break My Heart Again (Juliette/Hayden Panettiere)
